HOW DO I APPLY FOR THE EMERGING SOUND?

Every application will be thoroughly reviewed by our Team. Participants will be notified via email of acceptance. Applications acceptances are sent out starting on Jan 1st. After that expect 2-3 weeks (sometimes longer depending on volume) to process applications. Applications are processed on a first-come-first-served basis, so do not procrastinate in submitting. Participants will be placed into beginner, intermediate, advanced, or semi-pro writing circles. Registration will need to be fully completed and payment submitted upon acceptance in order to secure placement.

Note: Being accepted does not necessarily reserve you a spot at camp. Camp spots are filled up once you have registered and paid in full or begun a payment plan for camp.

WHAT IS THE EMERGING SOUND LOOKING FOR IN AN APPLICATION?

Overall musicianship and/or songwriting skill and a desire to use talents to serve the Kingdom.
Our desire is to sure up your weakness and strengthen what remains in both vocal and songwriting ability. Every singer should learn to write, and every writer should learn to sing!

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

Under no circumstance will deposits be refunded.
Please note: All monies paid that exceed deposit can be refunded in full up to six weeks prior to the event should a cancellation become necessary.

Young Adults will need to seek accommodations at any of the local area Hotels/AirBnBs.

WHO WILL I LEARN FROM?

Jennie Lee Riddle will be present at every Emerging Sound. Many of our Team members will be at our Indiana location. Team members attending other Emerging Sound locations, such as La Porte, will be added based on enrollment.

WHO WILL MY STUDENT SPEND TIME WITH?

Each student will be placed in a different writing circle consisting of 4-10 students (depending on skill placement) and 1-2 team leaders. Every day students will have the opportunity to work with different Team professionals, interns, and peers of differing ages and gender.

WHEN WILL THE SCHEDULE BE RELEASED?

By the first week in July, the schedule should be mostly finalized. We are not offering a typical "conference-in-a-box" experience. We are intentionally designing all instruction around the needs of students actually attending. To that end, it is critical that all auditions/performances/writing samples accurately reflect the true skill-level of the attending student.

WILL BACKGROUND CHECKS BE PERFORMED ON ALL MEMBERS OF THE EMERGING SOUND TEAM?

Each of our on-site team members go through a selection criteria, and are required to submit to a background check and take abuse training via our partners at MinistrySafe.com.

WHAT SHOULD STUDENTS BRING?

Bible, pen, paper, bath towel, toiletries, twin-extra long bed fitted sheet, blanket and pillow, bug spray, flashlight, instrument, snacks (peanut free), great attitude, creative spirit, and joyful heart.

WHAT IS PROHIBITED?

We prohibit the same behaviors that most schools, churches, and parents prohibit. As way of reminder and clarification, a common-sense short list would be: weapons, tobacco products, alcohol, drugs, porn, immodest attire, profanity or foul language, lewd behavior, disrespectful attitudes, unkindness, bullying, sexual innuendo or advances.
Please note: Any prescription medication must be noted during registration and will be noted by the counselors.
Please note: We reserve the right to expel a student without warning and require immediate exit at our discretion.

IS FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE?
